Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a representative will greet you and whisk you away to your luxurious accommodation in Arusha. Settle into Mount Meru Hotel, a haven designed to awaken your senses, where the rhythm of nature and the vibrant spirit of Africa meld seamlessly.
After a delightful breakfast at the hotel, depart for Tarangire National Park, aptly named after the lifeblood of the region – the Tarangire River. This vital waterway sustains incredible wildlife during the dry season. Explore diverse landscapes, from elephant grass plains and acacia woodlands to lush groundwater forests.
Keep your camera ready as you encounter Tarangire's iconic residents - vast herds of elephants congregating by the riverbanks, graceful giraffes browsing, and agile bushbuck weaving through the undergrowth. Be on the lookout for predators too, including lions and leopards, camouflaged amongst the foliage. Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of breeding bird species on Earth, so keep your ears tuned for the symphony of nature. After a delicious lunch and an enriching game drive, unwind at Kitela Lodge, your luxurious haven for the night.
Awaken to the sounds of the African bush and savor a delicious breakfast before embarking on an early morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. This iconic park, renowned for the Great Migration, is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Spend the next 6-7 hours exploring the vast plains, encountering a diverse array of animals - from graceful impalas and powerful buffaloes to the iconic crocodiles and hippos lurking in the waterways.
Be mesmerized by the sheer scale of the migration (depending on the season), where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes embark on their annual journey. Keep your eyes peeled for the park's skilled predators – leopards, cheetahs, and lions – as they hunt for their prey. In the afternoon, return to Karatu, a charming town bordering the Ngorongoro Crater. Savor a delectable dinner at your comfortable mid-range lodge, followed by an evening at your leisure to unwind and reflect on the day's adventures.
After breakfast, embark on a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a diverse ecosystem offering a unique contrast to the vast plains you've explored. This relatively small park is famous for its namesake shallow lake, a vital habitat for thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
Embark on a captivating game drive, searching for the park's diverse inhabitants, including playful monkeys swinging through the trees, graceful giraffes, and herds of zebras, wildebeest, and buffaloes. With a bit of luck, you might even spot lions lounging in the branches of acacia trees – a sight unique to this park.
After a delicious picnic lunch, return to Arusha, marking the conclusion of your unforgettable safari adventure. Depending on your travel arrangements, you may be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
